Listing Tips and Use of Keywords

To get the most out of your listings, try some of these helpful tips.

  • Research: Before listing an item, search other outlets such as eBay, etc. to find the going rate for same or similar items.

  • Title: When listing an item the title should be as exact as possible. Avoid being too general such as "Soy Candle". "Soy Wax Jar Candle" will attract more attention.

  • Description: Describe your item with as much detail as possible. Also include size and weight when applicable. Example: "Soy Wax Jar Candle Lilac scented". 24 oz 8 inches high. Jar is a replica of an old canning jar with metal lid".

  • Condition: Always include the condition of your item. Be very honest about any defects, age, wear, etc.

  • Keywords: This is very important for your item to be found more readily. We recommend using keyword phrases rather than single keywords. For example if you have a home for sale in Gatlinburg, Tennessee enter "home for sale in gatlinburg, tennessee". In addition you could enter "house for sale in gatlinburg, tennessee" and "gatlinburg tennessee home for sale". Always separate keyword phrases with commas. Example: 1949 ford blue, blue 1949 ford, blue ford 1949.

  • Spelling: Always check your spelling. A search for "Candel" wont find "Candle. Also correct spelling and proper grammar will garner more trust.

  • Photograph: It is not mandatory you submit a photo of your item but shoppers are less likely to purchase something sight unseen. We recommend you submit a photo or photos of your item. We also recommend using a digital camera for a better quality picture.

  • PayPal: You can make online transactions simpler by setting up a PayPal account. As a convenience for our customers who wish to do so we have provided a link to PayPal at the bottom of the Seller and Buyer member pages.
